NYC Sister Trip

This is the 2nd time my sister and I went to NYC, but the first time we kind of got to be tourists. The first time we went, I went with the expectation of doing all things NYFW. But, we missed every show (because a New York Minute is a real thing…) & had to cut the trip short due to a hurricane. This time, I decided that NYFW is no longer a dream of mine as I don’t consider myself a high fashion blogger and didn’t really want to stick to a hectic schedule. Instead, we are making this a trip we actually want to go on and experience each year.

Where We Stayed:

We stayed at Dream Midtown which was the perfect location. It was just blocks away from Times Square and in the middle of all the action. Walking to the places we wanted to go was no problem.

What We Did:

Midtown

To Eat:

Joe & the Juice: There is one on every corner, but it’s a must every time my sis and I go. We love everything about it – especially the paper straws that I brought home with me.

Underground Market: The coolest market at the entrance to a subway. This is where Tyme had me try ramen and I now know it’s disgusting.

Toasties: We love this place for breakfast! So many options and Tyme is obsessed with their bathroom. LOL

Shop Day One:

To do:

Time Square: Did you go to NYC if you didn’t end up in Time Square? Our Hotel was like 3 blocks from Times Square, so we spend a bit of time walking through it. But, in my opinion, it’s only cute at night and if you’ve seen it once you’ve kinda seen it all.

Top of the Rock: This was the most tourist thing we did. We paid to go to the Top of the Rock and get a view of the city. It’s a pretty cool experience. I swear we could see the Statue of Liberty from there, but Tyme doesn’t think so.

Shop:

Rosé Mansion: A MUST. I repeat. This is a MUST! This is one of those interactive pop ups that has been in the city and had my name all over it. You get 8 glasses of wine and get to taste wine from all over the world while experiencing a different activity in each room. So. Much. Fun!

Shop:

PHD Terrace: This is a rooftop bar on the roof of our hotel, Dream Midtown. Honestly, it’s the reason I wanted to stay there. It’s covered in flowers with plenty of corners to take pictures. Also, awesome views from the roof. Highly Recommend

Shop:

Chelsea

To do:

Shops at Hudson Yards: Huge shopping area with so many boutique, places to eat and things to do.

Gallow Green: Rooftop bar in Chelsea with vintage botanical garden vibes. Plants everywhere, an entrance lined with trees and craft cocktails worthy of the $20 per drink you’ll spend. The bartenders all dressed with a vintage vibe which makes the ambience that much better. Def worth going!

Shop:

To Eat:

Pastai Restaurant: Cute spot for fresh pasta and red wine!
