I’m Pregnant + 1st Trimester

I’m pregnant! Woah. Weird to say.

I’m actually responsible for a tiny human growing inside my body. Also SO weird to say.

Up until this point, I had always had this hard core attitude about NOT having kids. I honestly think it was due to the fact that I didn’t think it was going to happen, so I was preparing myself mentally to never have kids. I made the decision that if by the age of 30 it didn’t happen, I would MAYBE look into the IVF and other ways to get pregnant. But, here we are. Naturally pregnant AF.

Don’t get me wrong.. I am beyond excited and cannot wait to be a mom. I cried when I found out because I thought it wasn’t going to happen for me. But, I also believe in timing being everything and this is the perfect time.

I will be 29 in a few days and I couldn’t be more excited to welcome a life into my world at this stage in my life. I can confidently say I feel grounded and like I’m in a good place with myself to put the energy and attention into baby girl. I’ve traveled, gotten to know myself, bought a house, built a savings and finally bought my own car.

How I found Out

I had just finished painting my kitchen cabinets and could NOT stop sleeping. I figured it was because of how much energy it took out of me to paint those bad boys, but I also knew I was about 3 days late. I was using a period tracking app. I started to post on my IG about how tired I had been and was starting to sleep in until 1PM. My cousin INSTANTLY messaged me, told me I was pregnant and showed up at my house 30 mins later with food and a pregnancy test. I was sooo nervous. But, we know how the rest goes.

Were you trying?

Yes and no for like 2 years. I wasn’t stressing over it. If it was going to happen, it was going to happen.

1st Trimester

Woweee. Major FFFF YOU to 1st trimester.

All I could eat was mashed potatoes, fruit, veggies and absolutely ZERO meat. I didn’t want coffee, couldn’t stand the smell of it brewing.

I got sick sick once, but nauseous daily around 5PM. There were plenty of nights I went to bed at 7PM just to ease the feeling and also because my body forced me.

The biggest help for nausea were NoMo Nausea Acupressure bands from Amazon. I wore them daily.

Prenatals

So far, I have liked the Ritual Prenatals. They taste like lemon which makes it easy to take
