Skin Food by Ab – Handmade Organic Skin Care

Happy Tuesday! Is this time change hurting anyone else? I feel like all I have been doing is sleeping because my body’s clock is all messed up. But, anyways this week I’m bringing you some of my favorite skin care products from Skin Food by Ab!

If you know me, you know that my beauty regime solely consists if skincare, mascara and bb cream. Seriously, I only wear makeup maybe twice a week and would rather spend  my money on amazing skincare. Around Christmas I started searching through Etsy for handmade gifts to give my family and friends (because shop small, of course!). I luckily stumbled on Aubrey’s skin care line, Skin Food by Ab, and legitimately fell in love.

All of her products are handmade with fresh natural ingredients. Most products that I’ve gotten only have about 3-4 ingredients in them and that is what I love. It is so so important to know what you are putting on your skin, it is our biggest organ after all.

If you follow Aubrey on Instagram, she makes sure you’re educated on what you’re getting and why you need it.  Here are just some of the products I’ve been loving on:

Gimme a Beet Tinted Lip Balm

5 natural ingredients and leaves my lips the smoothest they’ve ever been. I love it most because it doesn’t cake up and leave you with lumps. It just does its job and it does it well. With subtle hints of vanilla and mint, it’s hard not to love.

P.s- I’m one of those girls that applies lip products like crazy. I will take the lip balm and apply it, going around and around and around my lips until my face is practically covered. Then do it again 5 minutes later. Sometimes I don’t even realize I’m going it! … Please tell me I’m not the only one?!

Lemon Body Butter

Wow. 7 ingredients & leaves your skin silky smooth! Lemon could possibly be my favorite scent for the clean smell and uplifting vibe it brings. This is my morning lotion, for sure! The texture is amazing, too. This lemon body butter is a glass container of whipped love.

Rosemary & Fig Skin Repair

Holy smells! I love the smell of this! I’ve been using it on the bottoms of my feet before I go to bed. After a shower, I lather my feet up, cover them in fluffy socks & go to bed! My feet thank me when I wake up. Also, did you know the topically figs help with the removal of warts?! Yup, Aubrey taught me that.

Heal Fizzing Salt Soak

Baths are sometimes my favorite pastime. Specially after a long week I love to grab a book (usually about blogging) and just soak. Heal is perfect for sensitive skins and leaves you so moisturized. Lather up with some lemon body butter after and you’re loving life!

Dead Sea Clay Facial Soap

This is an amazing cleanser! It gently exfoliates the skin leaving it clean and moisturized. I follow it up with my Detox face mask and oil

Detox Charcoal Facial Soap

I keep this one in my shower – It can be used on your face and all over your body.  I love it so much! I have very dry and black head prone skin, this soap is made with charcoal to help clear skin of toxins and impurities. Right up my alley!

These are just some of the products I’ve been able to try out and it’s safe to say I’m not going to try anything else. All handmade, artisanal products made from fair trade products that are good for your body. All the vitamins, minerals and moisture my skin needs and no harsh chemicals or ingredients I don’t recognize.

I would be interested in trying this line. Like you I love lip balm anything, especially since I live in cold climate for 6 months! I already use a black organic soap. that I’ve used for years and I love the results, plus a good hard milled soap lasts for such a long time too,

I’ve been using Skin Food products for a couple years now and I’ve officially been converted. Lol
I think I’ve used every product of hers and have a few favorites.
I love her charcoal products like the soap – amazing! And the hazelnut lotion is divine! I swear by her facial oil – I put it on in the am and pm and notice a big difference in skin texture. Also, the detox face mask is awesome.

Aubrey is so passionate about skincare and definitely shows through her products. Thank you for the code, girl 🙂

Yes yes yes!! I can honestly say I’m converted, too. I haven’t tried the hazelnut lotion, but it looks like I may need to give it a try! Her personally totally shows from her products to the community she’s built, I love it!

I’ve purchased from this company numerous times – usually the body butter. once i started making my own skincare products and experimenting with common skincare ingredients i realized that Aubrey is not telling the whole truth about her body butter. it 100% contains an emulsifier. if you take a look at the ingredients: #1 aloe vera and oil do not mix. they’ll separate. #2 i challenge you to take side by side an emulsified lotion her “body butter”. same smooth feel, no aeration typical from butter and oil being “whipped”, waxy feel to the skin after (not oil/butter. that feels different. after using this lotion there is almost a coating left on my skin- that’s the emulsifying wax.) The ingredient label is 100% not truthful.

also. rosemary and fig. fig oil doesn’t smell strongly of figs and there is no such thing as fig essential oil. i’ve asked essential oil companies as well as small businesses who have been in the EO business for longer than i’ve been alive! no such thing. so, that fig smell? totally a fragrance oil.

anyone with any sort of natural beauty/skincare diy experience will notice this stuff.
