Easy Homemade Dog Treats

Let’s Just start this out by saying, my dogs are very spoiled and I am very okay with it. I am sure they are, too. I recently found some dog bone cookie cutters which inspired me to make some treats for my little babes, Jax and Diego!

This recipe is very simple and easy to do – what I like most about this recipe is that most of these ingredients are probably already in your pantry!

Peanut Butter Dog Treats:

1 cup of flour
1 1/2 teaspoons of Baking Powder
1/2 Cup of Peanut Butter
1 tablespoon honey
1/2 cup hot water

  1. Preheat oven to 375
  2. Combine ingredients
  3. Mix together until fully combined
  4. Roll dough out on floured surface
  5. Cut with cookie cutter and place on non-stick cookie sheet.
  6. Bake for 15 minutes or until light brown.

While I was waiting for them to cool down I got a little creative/curious about what would happen if I mixed water, peanut butter and honey together. I don’t have exact measurements because I just threw it all together, but I mixed it until I got a very creamy consistency and dunked the treats it… Shall we call it peanut butter icing?!

Jax definitely knew what was going on!

Enjoy!

Your dogs are such cuties! I definitely like to make our new puppy treats as I feel they’re way better for him than some of the treats you find in store. These seem so easy to make! Love the cookie cutters you used, too!

What a good doggie Mommy. Peanut Butter is doggie scrumptious such a great idea. Thanks for visiting The Sunday Social Linky Party.

They look fab and I’m sure the little ones enjoyed them a lot. I bake cookies for my dog too, usually with grated carrots or parsnip, he loves them.

I am always so impressed with everyone’s homemade dog treats. I’m inspired – I shall go out and get some molds and attempt to make some. Thank you….

Do these need to refrigerated? I want to send them to my sister but want to make sure that they don’t need refrigeration, also can I use sunbather instead of PB? the house I am sending them too has people with nut allergies living there, I am also allergic to Peanut products

They don’t need refrigerator but my last batch did get mold before finishing them all. Must have been the PB because honey doesn’t go bad. This time in freezing half the dough and only baking half (note I cut mine very small so a full batch makes a ton of them for me).
