25 Things to do Before You’re 25

Your 25th birthday is kind of big deal.. right? Well, if you’re like me every birthday is kind of big deal. BUT, 25 is a major milestone. I’m going to be a quarter century!

I thought I would bring you some things I’m proud of doing before I turned 25 and things you should think about doing, too! It’s great to reflect and see how much you’ve accomplished in your life, the amazing experiences you’ve had or even how far you’ve come. Sometimes life consumes you and it’s important to slow down, take some time and realize you’re doing just fine.

For me, a lot of my accomplishments come from the places I’ve gone and the experiences I’ve experienced. Followed by the important… adult stuff…..

One. Start an emergency savings

Ever since I started working in a bank I realized how important it is to have an emergency savings. well, a savings in general!

Two. Start a blog ( Or find a Hobby)

October 2015 I did it! No regrets! It has been very rewarding for me. It’s a major creativity outlet and I mean, I was accepted to be a contributor for Huffington Post. That’s nuts !

Three. Learn a new skill

Personally, I learned and continue to learn marketing, branding and networking via social media. Also, I learn as much coding as I ca.n. This blogging thing is serious.

Four. Contribute to a 401k

The best thing you can invest in is yourself. If your employer matches what you put in, DO IT!

Five. Fly on a plane

I actually didn’t fly on a plane until i was 22! My first plane ride was to Cancun, Mexico!

Six. Climb a dormant Volcano, alone.

I only fell twice coming down and it’s because the stairs are so steep and mossy.

Seven. Visit Cancun

Secret: know how to speak Spanish and drink heavily! You’ll fit in just fine!

Eight. Visit the Caribbean

Go off the beaten path! check out new places like St. Marteen and take a tiny plane to Saba! An amazing little island that is home to one of the SMALLEST airport runways and my bestie!

Nine. Read!

Open your mind to more!

Ten. Take a road trip

On my own, I have road tripped to Atlanta. When I was younger i took a few road trips with my family up the eat coast. Lots of run!

Eleven. Buy a car on your own!

Even though it’s the worst. experience. ever.

Twelve. Attend a Caribbean Carnival

This was so much fun! While in Saba it was their Carnival week! A week full of drinking, dancing on roofs, parades and good times.. in the caribbean!

Thirteen. Take a cruise!

I’ve had my fair share of cruises. My favorite are the long ones with the balcony room. Talk about amazing!

Fourteen. Own a plant and keep it alive.

Okay I’m still experimenting with this one. But, bringing greenery into your home is the best thing I’ve done for my home!

Fifteen. Climb the Dunn’s River falls

While in Jamaica, I got to climb the Dunn’s River Falls. It’s a pretty cool experience!

Sixteen. Go parasailing.

This is probably one of the most peaceful things in the world. Unless the boat driver think it is fun to dip you in the water. ugh.

Seventeen. Become a planner!

You know the saying.. “Fail to plan, plan to fail”. It’s so true! I plan my workouts, my cleaning and my blogging days! I have not perfected it yet but I’m getting there.

Eighteen. Live on your own

My greatest accomplishment. I live on my own and have had no problem with doing so! As much as I miss my mommy, I don’t think I could ever go back home!

Nineteen. Score an amazing job

Started working in a Bank and it’s has been the best thing that has happened to me. Wasn’t my original choice in careers, but i’m damn good at it.

Twenty. Be spontaneous

Well, more like get drunk and decide to swim in a public fountain (I didn’t drive home)! Sometimes, SOMETIMES, it’s okay to just go with the flow and make the most out of a moment!

Twenty-One. Learn to let go of toxic people

There are some people you just cannot please. Some people who always think they are right. Some people who are too exhausting. I’ve learned to figure out who these people are and come to terms with letting them go.

Twenty-Two. Get a tattoo

Whoops. I totally never thought i’d have tattoos. But, they all have meaning!

Twenty-Three. Become a Morning Person

I literally wake up at 6 am almost every morning. It makes your day so much longer!

Twenty-Four. Find your style

Decor style, fashion style, lifestyle… Figure it out!

Twenty-Five. Love yourself

Like no one else can. Be happy with yourself. Love yourself.

Happy birthday!! I’m actually turning 25 in about a week and a half. I can’t believe I’m reaching a quarter-century already! I’m also grateful for my travel and adventure experiences, though I haven’t spend much time at all in the Caribbean region like you have, I’ve spent several years living in Asia and have loved exploring this region of the world.

Happy late, or early birthday! Connected with you on Instagram, and loving your blog!

I turned 23 a couple weeks ago and reading this post helped me feel a bit at ease- I was feeling a bit lacking in my life at this age but this post helped me feel at ease.

    xx
